Phone — Luxury then, a necessity today, and addiction now

Photo by Crystal Jo on Unsplash

Thinking of my childhood, I get lost in my thoughts,

Browsing the social media posts, try to connect the dots.

To the times when I got up and rushed to mom for a hug,

These days, I look for my phone; I feel I am a victim of a Phone bug.

Here, I see what is happening to me,

My phone is inseparable from me, you see.

It is my story but not just me,

Out there, every next person is just like me.

Having made gadgets world of our own,

It’s impossible to sit without our phones, even on the lawn.

Using the phone to get updates, news, and weather prediction,

It serves the need for sure but is turning into an addiction.

In the same room where one is reading a book and the other doing chores,

That’s better than two people glued in phones within the same doors.

However, it acts as a bridge to connect with the world lets keep this fact aside,

The addition of this addiction is subtracting one from loved ones, which is a bitter truth worldwide.
