I Beg Thee

A Ghazal

Tormented is the one who forsakes his soul

This ignorance, a bleak mistake for his soul

I entreat you minds, noble, light fill’d and bold

Use your wiles so mystical, to wake his soul

Lest in these fathoms of lost hope, sunken dreams

The chains that bind him, bear down and break his soul

Uncertain are these times, our futures unknown

We have but moments in which to make his soul

And in the blessed light, I bow to my past

This Aarish, strives only to awake his soul
