How to Write a Sonnet

The first step is to think of some great theme.
A lesson learned to share with those I know.
It has to fit within the sonnet scheme.
I have to find a way to make it flow.

One two three four five six sev’n eight nine ten,
I roll the numbers ‘round inside my head.
I listen to the rhythms formed and then,
I write down all the words that must be said.

I count the phrases, syllables and words.
I say them back in sequence checking feel.
I split the whole arrangement into thirds.
But save a final part that makes it real.

If I can read it back with no mishaps.
I publish what I wrote and wait for claps.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
